U.S. Trustee Announces Implementation of Virtual Section 341 Meetings of Creditors

Pursuant to its authority under 11 U.S.C. §§ 341(a) and 343, Federal Rule of Bankruptcy Procedure 2003, and other authorities, the U.S. Trustee Program (“USTP”) will implement virtual section 341 meetings of creditors (“341 meetings”) via Zoom for all chapter 7, 12, and 13 cases in the District of Vermont for meetings being held on or after November 1, 2023. 

All attorneys and staff are invited to join one of the U.S. Trustee's information sessions scheduled for Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at 3:30 p.m. and Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. The information sessions will be conducted by Teams, are open to everyone, and will cover a variety of topics including:

• Connecting to a Zoom Meeting
• Participating in a Zoom Meeting
• Requirements for Verifying Debtors' ID; and more.

Please RSVP by emailing your name, email address, and session you will be attending, along with the name, email address, and session date for each additional person attending, to ustp.341region02@usdoj.gov no later than September 15, 2023. The U.S. Trustee will follow up with further instructions.

If you are unable to attend and would like to receive Zoom § 341 meeting instructions and best practices, please request these documents by emailing ustp.341region02@usdoj.gov.   Additionally, please be advised that the United States Trustee Office will also be giving a presentation on the rollout of the Zoom meeting platform for 341 meeting at the court’s next Bench-Bar meeting on Friday, September 22, 2023 at 12:30pm in our Rutland courthouse.
