Log into the CM/ECF Filing System

CM/ECF has been tested successfully using Internet Explorer 6.0 and Netscape 7.2 as representative browsers. Other browsers and browser versions may work as well.

Note: Please be aware that these instructions are not complete instructions for using Netscape or Explorer. It should be sufficient for locating CM/ECF in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court's web site.

1. Access Internet Explorer 6.0 and Netscape 7.2  
   1. Locate the Netscape or Explorer in your Program files (or a shortcut icon on your desktop, if available.) 
2. Access Court's Website 
   1. Type: http://www.vtb.uscourts.gov in the location field. 
   2. Click on the "CM/ECF Online Filing" link.  
3. Access the  "Document Filing System"
   1. Click on the "District of Vermont - Document Filing System" hypertext link.
4. Login to CM/ECF 
   1. Enter your CM/ECF  login and password. 
5. Access the CM/ECF Main Menu 
   1. Select the appropriate menu (Bankruptcy or Adversary) for the type of proceeding your document is in. 
6. Access CM/ECF Submenu 
   1. Select the appropriate category (Motions/Applications, Notices & Hearings, File Claims, etc.) for the type of document you are filing. 
7. Exiting CM/ECF  
   1. Click on  "Logout" at the top left corner of the CM/ECF page.
